Groundhog Day

We talked about predicting and what we thought the groundhog would see. Once they made their predictions they were able to make small groundhogs and place them on our graph. This is another pinterest find! People have great ideas and it is awesome they are so willing to share their ideas!!!

Dental Health Month

I found great ideas on Pinterest for dental health month so here are some of my recreations. I have changed and added to some and used others I do not have the links I looked at but they are not my original ideas but they are fantastic ones!

We graphed how many teach each student had lost.

I drew a tooth for a boy and a girl tooth and copied them on card stock. Then we used scrapbook paper for the clothes and bows. They wrote what they could do to keep their teeth healthy; which we talked about earlier in the week when we talked about what was healthy vs. unhealthy for our teeth.

Valentines

For Valentines I used scrapbook paper and printed sayings on them using a business card template. One for my students and one for the teachers.

I'm glad you fit 'write' in with our class
Thanks to a friend of mine I was able to order small personalized notepads, designed by her, for each of the teachers I work with. I then made a card that said I'm lucky to work with such a 'note'worthy team! Which I do work with such an awesome team of 9 kindergarten teachers and awesome support staff and fantastic principal!!

The 100th Day of School

On the 100th day of school we had a few special activities that the kids really enjoyed doing as stations!

I placed M&Ms in a can and skittles in a can and the students wrote their names on a sticky note and guessed which one had 100.
Then they were able to see what they could make using 100 foam balls, they worked as a team at this station and there were a few interesting ideas that came from this.
The students also were able to measure items around the room and find what was 100cm. They then went back to their math notebooks and either wrote a sentence or drew a picture to go along with what they found.

The last station was to find the numbers around the room. I created circles with numbers 1-100 on them and colored them 5 colors. The students then had a hundred's chart and colored the numbers as they found them around the room.
